Planting any plant is a starting point for the development and growth of a plant. If you hold it correctly, you can count on a bountiful harvest, resistance to diseases and pests. Planting apricot, its proper implementation, and methods of caring for a young tree will be described below in the article.
Where is better to plant apricot?
Place for landing is selected in advance. It should be a sunny place, it is desirable that the entire trunk of the tree be lit by sunlight at least most of the day. Planting an apricot in the shade will lead to a meager harvest, since the tree will not be able to warm up properly during the period of flower formation.

The site should also not be wet, it is better to choose a hill where the water does not linger, since trees are short-lived in a wet land.
It is very important to pay attention to the choice of variety. It should easily take root in the area where the site is located.

Depending on the time of planting, the soil is prepared in different periods. Apricot can be planted in spring and autumn. In summer, the procedure is also practiced, but the tree can take root poorly. Nevertheless, dryness and high temperatures will only interfere with the young plant.
If the apricot is planted in the spring, the soil is prepared in the fall, and if it is planted in the fall, the preparation is done in the spring or early summer. The first thing to do is to remove the entire weed, completely clear the area under the pit and dig the ground to a depth of 25 cm.
The optimal depth of the pit - meter per meter and a depth of 0.6 m. The top layer is removed from the site. Then a hole is dug in depth and width as indicated above. This size will be quite enough for a young tree.
In order for the seedling to quickly take root, it is necessary to dilute a special earthen mixture in the pit. It is made from a pair of buckets of rotted manure and the upper fertile soil layer, which was removed before digging a hole. If the earth does not differ in a large number of useful elements, it must be fertilized additionally with mineral fertilizers. Potassium, phosphorus, nitrogen are added depending on the type of soil and the time of year. In the spring, as a rule, the earth needs nitrogen, and in the fall in potassium and phosphorus.
If the soil is acidic, it is neutralized with lime or dolomite flour (1 bucket of substance is needed per square meter).
How to plant apricot?
In the southern regions of the apricot is usually planted in the fall. At the same time, the plant has a lot of time to gain a foothold in the ground, to start development and in time to go to the resting stage. But if the seedling is planted in the northern and middle latitudes, it is necessary to plant in the spring. The risk in this case is not justified, especially if the variety is rare.
Proper apricot planting
Before planting, the seedling must be carefully examined. Any damage or damage is recommended to be cut, and then smeared with garden pitch. Dead roots that will no longer develop should be removed. To strengthen them, you can make a talker out of the ground with the addition of Heteroauxin. Heteroauxin increases plant growth and development during the first year of life by 1.5 times! The consistency of the talker should be approximately as in sour cream. The roots are lowered into it so that they are completely covered with earth.
The apricot is planted in such a way that its roots are at the level with the bottom of the pit or even slightly higher (by 3-4 cm). For convenience, a mound is made in the pit, on which a sapling is set, horses are straightened, and then they are sprinkled with prepared manure from all sides. The bottom layer of soil is trampled down 10-15 cm (but carefully, so as not to tear the roots), then the rest of the earth is filled up, but no longer tamped.
When properly planted, the sapling will not pull out with increased twitching. In order for the plant to withstand strong winds, it is tied up to a peg set near. Do it at a distance of 23 cm from the ground and at the very top. Now the plant only needs to be watered right under the root, so that the earth is gradually tamped down.
Growing out of a stone suggests the same principle of planting, only long before planting a seed needs to be germinated. Although some gardeners plant it right in a hole with fertile soil. With proper watering, it will germinate until summer, if planted in spring. Nevertheless, it is recommended to grow plants from bones on a separate garden bed, and when the tree is 2 years old, it should be transplanted into a separate hole.

The formation scheme of the bowl-shaped crown of apricot
- Regular watering is especially needed when planting in spring. In this case, the tree is just important moisture during the summer, sizzling heat. It should be watered in moderation so that the water at a depth of 0.5 m becomes wet.
- Loosening the soil is carried out very carefully, ideally with a small hoe for indoor plants, as the roots of the tree are level with the ground.
- Pruning is carried out on the next spring. In this case, young shoots are shortened by 1/3 to stimulate their growth.
- There must be no weeds in the circle!
- If the variety of apricot is not frost resistant, it must be warmed for the winter. For this, the trunk of the tree is wrapped with kraft paper or roofing felt so that there are no bare spots left. After that, the trunk is spud earth, and in winter a tree with heavy frosts should be covered with more snow. But so that under its weight the branches do not break.
