This breed is very popular in Ukraine, Russia, and neighboring countries. They quickly adapt to the new climate, new conditions of detention, so there are almost no problems with their breeding.

Manchurian quails are very remarkable. The body is rounded, oval in shape, the wings are tightly pressed to the body. The head is medium in size, the beak is small, sand-colored. The neck is small, thick, almost imperceptible. Paws are not high, the same in color as the beak. The eyes are always dark, so they stand out clearly against the golden bird.

  • Keep quails either in boxes or in cages. The second is preferable. The size of the cage depends on the number of individuals. The minimum dimensions are 50x25 cm. Height is from 17 to 20 cm. If there are a lot of quails, it is worthwhile to put cages in racks along the entire length of the wall.

  • Inside the cages, a container of sand will be stirred to allow quails to bathe and clean their feathers.

Meat-bone meal, vitamins, cottage cheese, minced fish are mixed into the feed, especially in the winter when there are not enough nutrients and the weight of individuals and egg production can be reduced.

Crushed shell and chalk with gravel are poured into a separate trough. They should be smaller than in the case of chickens, so that the Manchurian quail would not choke.

Water is changed daily or every 2 days, if the drinking bowl is nipple. It is worth noting that the dry food can lie for a long time in the trough, it does not spoil for several days, but you need to keep the wet food up to an hour, then it can start to sour, especially in hot summer.

Breeding characteristics

The hatchability of chicks is 85-90%, but only on condition that the correct hatching eggs of the Manchurian quail are selected. In this case, suitable eggs weighing 13-14 g or a maximum of 15 g. Record, 16 g or more, it is better not to take. The shape of the eggs must be correct, the pattern on the shell and its color must also match the breed.

Perepelat after birth can not be placed to adults, for them make a separate brooder. They need to be warm, dry, clean. Brooder is cleaned several times a day, as far as pollution.

Feed Manchurian breed quail need little by little. The first time is up to 8 times a day, and by the month the ration is reduced to 3-4 times a day. It is better to feed quail chickens with special feed or softened cereals, boiled eggs (the first 3-5 days), cottage cheese, and greens. About a week or two, chopped vegetables are injected.
